Sports
Sport plays an integral role at SJI International. Our students can participate in various team and recreational activities as part of our extensive enrichment programme.
Students are selected to represent the school and compete against other schools in international schools (ACSIS) and local Singaporean schools (SSSC) leagues. We enter teams in the following sports: football, basketball, badminton, tennis, netball, volleyball, swimming and rugby. In addition to these official school sports, individual students can represent the school in various other sports, such as shooting, sailing, fencing and Taekwondo, through the Singapore Schools Sports Council competitions.
Students who wish to join one of the competitive teams participate in sports trials at the start of each term, where our coaches talent-spot experienced performers and students who show potential or have a flair for an activity. Training schedules are then developed to build on the core concepts of teamwork and communication while improving skill levels.
Our school’s Sports Programme focuses on developing lifelong transferable skills, such as collaboration, communication, resilience and teamwork, and a lifelong love of physical activity.
