Parents are a vital and valued part of our SJI International community. We are blessed with a very supportive parent community actively involved in the children’s education. They play a significant role in the school through the Parent Support Groups: ESPG, PSG & Catholic Parents Group.
Elementary Parent Support Group (EPSG)
The EPSG organises social events, fundraises for both school projects and class-specific charities, provides a communication channel back to the school for parents’ questions and queries, supports all the performing arts projects in the form of assisting with costumes, make-up, props, set and graphic design and filming, and actively works on health and nutrition initiatives.
Subcommittees are formed as needed by the EPSG to support events. There is an EPSG representative in each of the Elementary School classes. Regular EPSG feedback sessions are held with the Elementary School Principal, and at least two EPSG ‘Town Halls’ are held every academic year.
High School Parent Support Group (PSG)
The PSG is a volunteer group of parents who strive to enhance school life for students and their families and promote community spirit within the SJI International family. Through the enrolment of a student at SJI International, the parent automatically becomes a member of the PSG. Each grade has two Grade Representatives available to take feedback on non-academic matters. Serving in this body makes a difference in the lives of the children and the whole school and resonates with the Lasallian spirit of service.
To foster closer communication between parents and the school, the PSG organises regular dialogues through Open Meetings and holds a Parents’ Social night. It collaborates with the school at events such as Sports Day and Performing Arts by providing F&B support. The PSG also organises the annual Teachers’ Appreciation day and helps to support the Foreign Student Programme.
