SCHOLAR ADRIEL AIMAN '23

"I already had two successful direct Secondary School offers. On the day I was supposed to buy my school books and uniforms for one of those schools, my family and I received the good news that I had been successful in the SJI International Scholarship. It was a tough decision, but we unanimously agreed that SJI International was where I could challenge myself the furthest and grow to my fullest potential. It was, and still is, a choice I never regretted."

SCHOLAR IAN THAM '21

"Receiving the IB merit scholarship encouraged me as it indicated SJI International's ability to reward students that have made the most out of academic opportunities presented to them. I saw the scholarship not only as a recognition of my past dedication and successes but also felt a duty to develop further my academic journey by capitalising on the additional support extended to me. I was motivated by the school identifying my potential."

PhD in Economics, Harvard Business School & Department of Economics (commenced Aug 2020); joint JD Harvard Law School (commencing Aug 2021)

SCHOLAR RURU HOONG '14

"SJI International's holistic education allowed me to focus on developing my confidence as a person, whilst my intellectual vitality and encouraged me to discover interdisciplinary links between fields and pursue my passions beyond the classroom. As I begin my research at the intersections of behavioural/public economics, law and industrial organisation, there is no doubt in my mind that I owe so much of who I am (and what interests me!) today to the SJI International scholarship and community.”

SCHOLAR NALAKA WARNAKULA '09

" For most of my life, I have studied in Lasallian institutions, even back in Sri Lanka. The Lasallian ethos resonates with me- its emphasis on serving others and service learning. I wanted to work in the international education sector, and the best option was SJI International. It was my way of giving back to the community that has given me so much. I'm grateful that the school has given me this opportunity to come back and be part of the school community once again.”
