We are delighted to share that SJI International alumna and scholarship recipient Min Yeo was invited to speak at the International Baccalaureate (IB) Global Conference, held in Singapore in March 2025. Min was invited to take part as their IB Graduate Speaker and share her personal reflections on the IB journey - offering insight, inspiration, and a deeply moving perspective drawn from her own experiences.

Min’s story first gained wider attention in December 2024, when we shared a press release celebrating her academic success, scoring 43 points in the IB Diploma Programme, and her achievements as a national team kayaker, all while navigating deeply personal family challenges. Her journey of strength, perseverance and hope resonated not only within our school community but also with the IB organisation itself, who saw in Min the embodiment of the values the IB hopes to cultivate: resilience, balance, and a global perspective.

Min’s participation in the IB Global Conference is a meaningful recognition of both her achievements and her voice. Speaking to an international audience of educators and school leaders, she reflected on how the IB shaped her thinking and helped her find strength during the most difficult times. She took a moment to personally thank several of her teachers and administrative staff from SJI International, an act that touched the hearts of many in the room and reminded us all of the quiet but profound impact schools have on young lives.

She closed her speech with a line familiar to many in our school community: “In the words of my Principal… Go forth and do good.”

The audience responded with heartfelt applause, recognising not only the weight of those words, but the depth of character behind them.

We are incredibly proud of Min for embracing this opportunity and representing SJI International on such a global stage. Her invitation to speak is a testament to her courage, character, and the power of stories to connect and uplift others.

Min reminds us all that success is not measured only by results, but by resilience, grace, and the courage to keep moving forward.
