Have you heard of a Purple Christmas? Not the typical red, green, or white Christmas, but purple!

Hello! We are Comm-Unity, along with 2 CAS Project Groups, from 11MG1 and 11MT1. We work together with Purple Community Fund (PCF), to help families in the Tondo community work their way out of poverty by providing them with the necessary equipment and upskilling needed to support their livelihoods.

This year, we bring you a Purple Christmas filled with the warm feeling of home, with events being carried out until the 3rd of December.

1. Giving Tree

At the “Giving Tree” in the foyer, we are collecting donations in the run-up to the non-uniform day. As donations increase, so will the number of decorations on the tree! To donate, you can:

●      Scan the QR code found in the board beside the tree, OR

●      Place CASH (no coins) donations in the donation boxes that can be found in the Student Hub (Level 1), as well as the Senior School Office (Level 4).

If you donate, you are given the opportunity to submit a name you want to remember this Christmas - it could be a friend, a family member, a teacher, etc. These nametags will be hung on the Christmas tree as part of the decorations. There are papers readily available for you on the board beside the tree, for you to write this name down, and submit them into the purple box which can be found in the same area.

 Beside the tree there is also a message board for you to write a message of solidarity to members of the Tondo community

2. Donation Drive 

But of course, besides the decorations, presents are also a crucial part of a Christmas tree. Underneath the tree, you will find boxes in the four different house colours and we encourage everyone to donate items for the Tondo community.

These items will be sent to Tondo along with our next consignment of ring pulls for the families there. House points will be awarded for every item donated!

3. PCF Christmas Sale

Comm-unity proudly presents beautifully handmade products, handmade by PCF artisans in the Philippines. They are created with upcycled materials and centered around canned ring-pull tabs that SJI International collects and donates. These products are made with exceptional care to last a lifetime, and all proceeds go straight to the Tondo community. They make wonderful gifts in this Christmas season (and throughout the year), and we hope to see them bless many. Expect to see gift bundles, discounts, and a wide array of Christmas ornaments and products to choose from.
