We are very pleased to share that 13 of our Grade 9 Chinese language students have been invited to the Author-in-Residence Programme, a highly-esteemed programme organised annually by the Ministry of Education (MOE).
The programme was launched to promote love and appreciation of Chinese literature amongst students and runs in collaboration with the Singapore Association of Writers.
Ms Cherry Ji, Head of Chinese in the High School, said: “We are privileged to be the first international school to participate in this programme. The Chinese department hopes to continually leverage MOE initiatives that aim at providing our students with creative learning experiences beyond the classroom.”
Our students will be involved in numerous activities organised by renowned local writers, which include:
● Literary Forums: Literature Under the April Sky
● Author-in-Residence
● Publication of Students’ Articles
● Young Writers Training
● School-based Meet the Author Seminar
Due to pandemic restrictions, all planned activities will be held virtually. The first session was held on Tuesday, 28 September.
“We will continue to work with local and international academics to bring more literary and cultural initiatives to our school to create a supportive and vibrant environment for our students in learning and appreciating the Chinese language,” Ms Ji added.
Congratulations to our students on this remarkable achievement!
