In 1680 St John Baptist de La Salle, a French priest and patron saint of teachers, started an order to provide education for poor boys in France. It welcomed children of all faiths. In 1852, the Lasallian Brothers set up St Joseph’s Institution in Singapore. SJI International is a sister school of St Joseph’s Institution (SJI) and shares a similar mission statement:
They are enabling students within a Lasallian community to learn how to learn and how to live, empowering them to become people of integrity and people for others.
