St Joseph’s Institution International proudly shines a spotlight on the outstanding achievements of Joshua Khoo, a true powerhouse in the school's sporting programme.
As Joshua graduates from his studies in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme with an outstanding score of 38 points, his legacy reflects his dedication to both academic and athletic excellence, consistent with the school's ethos. Joshua's achievements extend beyond the tennis courts, and he has successfully balanced academic excellence with his sporting prowess. Additionally, Joshua dedicated a large portion of after-school hours in his IB year to launching a personal charity project with a classmate, Pedal For Water, an initiative to make clean water accessible to schools in Kampong Chhnang Province in rural Cambodia.
Joshua's journey at SJI International has been marked by significant contributions to the tennis arena, where he has not only represented the school with distinction but has also earned top rankings and accolades for Singapore.
Throughout his time at SJI International, Joshua has been a cornerstone of the premiere tennis teams, showcasing remarkable skill and leadership. His dedication and prowess on the court have earned him the #1 ranking in Singapore for his age group as well as a current top 20 ranking in the Men’s Open Category. In 2022 and 2023, Joshua's tennis excellence reached new heights as he emerged as Champion in the STA Pesta Sukan Men’s Intermediate Singles Championship and the Singapore Men’s Advanced Singles Championship.
Joshua Khoo's tennis journey extends beyond local competitions with his participation in the ITF (International Tennis Federation) tournaments across Asia. His global ranking further solidifies his standing in the international tennis scene, showcasing his commitment to excellence both nationally and internationally.
Joshua shares: “I have been blessed to embark on a 6-year journey in SJI International. The IB curriculum afforded me the space and opportunity to mature and grow in the realms of sport, academics, and service. The lessons I have learnt and the friends I have made along the way will forever be cherished.”
