We are immensely proud to share that our alumnus, Lucas Lim from the Class of 2023, has been honoured with the prestigious Army NSF of the Year Award 2025 by Singapore’s Ministry of Defence. This annual accolade recognises distinguished servicemen from the cohort who have demonstrated strong commitment to defence, exemplary conduct, and outstanding performance during their Full-time National Service.
The Singapore Army’s commendation highlights Lucas’s exceptional dedication and character. As a Recce Trooper, CPL Lucas consistently pursued excellence in training, mastering vocational skills with a highly motivated approach. His unwavering resilience in the face of adversity made him a true inspiration for his peers.
Lucas's outstanding performance extended beyond local training. He also excelled in an international exchange exercise, earning positive feedback and admiration from his overseas counterparts. His resilience and proactive attitude towards continuous self-improvement were noted by fellow soldiers, earning him their respect.
“I feel extremely honoured to be one of the recipients of the NSF of the Year award. To me, this award reflects the perseverance through the multitude of challenges I have faced during NS and the support from my commanders and friends who pushed me to perform to the highest of my ability,” Lucas shared.
Lucas's journey stands as a powerful testament to one of the core values we instil in our students: excellence. His achievements in National Service exemplify the profound impact of strong character, steadfast effort, and a commitment to excellence. His story is an inspiration to all our students, past and present.
“Being a part of the SJI International community played a huge role in shaping my character, whether through the numerous group projects that fostered a strong sense of teamwork, or the constant motivation from teachers, which cultivated a drive for excellence and independence. This would not have been possible without the strong support of the Lasallian community,” Lucas added.
