The SJI International community recently gathered for our annual Founder's Day Dinner, an evening centred on legacy, leadership and the strength of our Lasallian family.
Bringing together students, staff, governors, parents, alumni and friends of the school, the occasion provided an opportunity to reflect on the life and enduring values of St. John Baptist de La Salle while celebrating the people and community that continue to shape the life of the school today.
A key moment of the evening was the formal investiture of our student leaders. We proudly welcomed the Elementary School House Unity Group (HUG) leaders for Benilde, Jaime, Miguel, and Mutien, alongside the official induction of the High School 19th Senior Council. Together, these students represent the next generation of Lasallian leadership and service across our school community.
Performances throughout the evening reflected the spirit and diversity of our ‘One Family’ of schools with contributions from Preschool, Elementary School and High School. Guests were welcomed in the foyer by the Flute Collective, a collaboration between students and staff, before enjoying a joyful performance of ‘My Own Superhero’ by our Preschool Kindergarten students. The Elementary School Chamber Ensemble further enriched the evening performing Yiruma’s ‘River Flows In You’ while the High School Orchestra gave a magical rendition of ‘Disney Film Favourites’ arranged by John Vinson.
The evening also provided an opportunity to recognise and thank retiring Board Members, Ms Choo Oi Yee and Mr Lee Chee Koon for their dedicated service and contribution to SJI International. On behalf of the community, Chairman of the Board of Governors Mr Chris Woo presented a special tribute in appreciation of their leadership and longstanding commitment to the school.
Founder’s Day remains an important moment in the life of SJI International - a reminder that while each generation leaves its mark on the school, we are one Lasallian family united by shared purpose, shared values, and a commitment to serving others. We extend our sincere appreciation to everyone who joined us and helped make the evening such a memorable celebration.
