Over 330 guests gathered at Capella Singapore on 20 August for the SJI International Building Futures Gala Dinner, marking the launch of Building Futures - our Capital Campaign for SJI International’s future campus.
But Building Futures is about far more than buildings. Our future campus will create the environment and opportunities to enable our Mission for generations to come - supporting young people to learn, grow and become people of character, integrity and service.
Grounded in our Mission to ‘Enable students to Learn How to Learn and to Learn How to Live as Lasallian People for Others,’ the evening brought that Mission to life through the voices of our students, staff and alumni, who shared powerful personal reflections on the experiences, values and opportunities that have shaped who they are today.
Guests also enjoyed wonderful student performances and an immersive XR experience, offering an exciting glimpse into the possibilities for SJI International’s future campus.
And, in true SJI International spirit, the evening ended on a high, with students and staff coming together for a spectacular finale performance of A Million Dreams - joined by our CEO, Dr Michael Johnston, and Chairman of the Board of Governors, Mr Chris Woo.
It was an evening filled with heart, talent, generosity and true Lasallian spirit - and a powerful reminder of what Building Futures is really about.
The young people in our classrooms today will become the leaders, decision-makers and changemakers of tomorrow. Our responsibility is not only to prepare them for that future, but to help shape the people they will become - people of character and integrity, guided by a commitment to serve others.
