The First Week at SJI International

8th January 2007

The opening assembly of the year began with the pipe band of St Joseph's Institution marching into the gathering of the 112 new SJI International students, playing their pipes and bearing the traditional flag.

After the raising of the National Flag, much to the pride of the old boys who had gathered for the occasion, the SJI flag was raised to the piped strains of the SJI school rally.

The students adjusted to their new environment within hours and before the end of the day many new friendships had been forged and a real sense of family was developing.

Currently the students are looking forward to the camp at school and MacRitchie hike on the weekend of the 19th/20th January followed by the start of the rich activities programme on 22nd January. They are also preparing for a ceremony and a show on the occasion of the school's Inaugural Blessing and Assembly at the end of February.
