St Joseph's Institution (SJI) International has received a S$1 million donation towards its building fund.

The money comes from Mr Stephen Riady of the Lippo Group and this is the second time in two years that he has made a donation.

The first donation went towards scholarships for regional students.

At an appreciation ceremony on Tuesday evening, SJI International announced it would name its new library after Mr Riady.

The Guest-of-Honour for the evening was Defence Minister Teo Chee Hean, who is an old boy of the school.

Mr Teo presented Mr Riady with a certificate of commendation for his support.

With this latest gift, the school has successfully collected more than $10 million through its fund-raising efforts over the past year.
